About Me!
Hailey Gwata is a sound designer and audio engineer with a strong foundation and passion for sound design, audio engineering, and live sound. She is currently studying Production and Design for Stage and Screen at Pace University’s Sands College of Performing Arts, where she continues to develop her technical skills alongside a collaborative, storytelling-driven approach to sound. She is also minoring in Arts and Entertainment Management at Pace University’s Lubin School of Business.
She’s a rising sophomore and is so excited to apply what she’s been learning in class to her designs. In New York, she’s been shadowing her school productions and is always open to any opportunity to sit in and see how other designers work. Outside of school, she is an active member of Pace’s Black Student Union, and serves on the production and media team for her church.
Hailey is drawn to sound because of its intangible power—how something often unnoticed can completely shape an audience’s emotional experience. She is especially interested in the immersive potential of sound and the creative freedom designers and engineers have to sculpt environments, enhance storytelling, and transform a moment into something memorable and beautiful.
